Barking up the right tree

Around 70% of ���������ƽ�� guests are pet owners and 30% purchase pet care items. When we saw a gap between basic pet accessory brands and stylish, premium brands, we knew we had the purr-fect opportunity to reimagine Boots & Barkley to give our pet owner guests the delightful, affordable pet accessories they want. A few examples: clever new items like the and . And we’ve included lots of blue and yellow in the assortment, because those are the colors cats and dogs can see best.

From toys, apparel and treats to bowls, beds, collars and reflective leashes, Boots & Barkley is a one-stop shop for pet accessories that you and your pet will love. How’d we do it? Here’s more about the “new” Boots & Barkley.

• Quality and value. Our team focused heavily on quality and developed specific standards for the engineering, durability, construction and product materials — so you’ll find consistent, high quality in every Boots & Barkley product. Our technical design team learned that our guests wanted plush toys that could hold up to rough play — so we created them. Guests also wanted to understand how durable each dog toy is, so the team established a testing and rating system for durability and created a “durability scale” — from plush toys to rubber to rope, the rating is called out on the packaging (see example below). Now you can choose the right toy with the right level of durability for your dog — whether they’re cuddlers or toy destroyers. Our mantra: It better work, and it better last!
  
  And it’s all at a great value: nearly two-thirds of the assortment is under $10, so you can indulge and care for your pet without breaking the bank.

• Interactive, simplified package design. When shopping Boots & Barkley, you can touch, interact with and experience each product — so you know exactly what you’re getting. With playful elements like shapes and windows, the products are interactive and engaging for both pets and pet parents. We also color-coded the product packaging to simplify the shopping experience. The original packaging was black, white and red; now green Boots & Barkley packaging is for dog products, blue is for cats and purple is for products meant for both dogs and cats.
• Form and function: When designing the collection, our product and tech teams considered all aspects of functionality, including efficiency, safety, comfort, ease and health support. The result? Items like a harness with both front and back clips; a reflective with a comfort handle; an for better digestion and beds with or .

• Fun and celebration. Seasonal and celebratory moments are important for pet parents — and Boots & Barkley is brimming with playful, photo-worthy and giftable items for everything from to holidays like Halloween, Hannukah and Christmas. From pet advent calendars to birthday cake plush toys and special occasion treats, we’re bringing the joy of holidays and cultural moments to life for all pet parents.
